A sudden email and post on the Phoenix FC Wolves website signaled the impending end to the troubled franchise had finally come. Stadium, player and fan woes mounted during the past season and the team was never able to get its legs under it during the off-season.
The announcement of the end was followed by an announcement of a new beginning as USL PRO announced Arizona United Soccer Club, LLC, had acquired the franchise rights for the team. The group is led by Peoria resident and business leader Kyle Eng.
